THEIR NAME ALONE KEEPS THEM FROM BEING NERDS

OgreYouAsshole

Ogre You Asshole

Post-fest lots of friends are going to ask who you caught at FRF ’10. If you’re searching for a band name that will really stick out amongst your list, look no further than Ogre You Asshole.

Their moniker was unknowingly given to them by Modest Mouse’s bassist Eric Judy when he drunkenly scrawled “Ogre You Asshole” (which is a line from the ‘80s comedy flick “Revenge Of The Nerds”) on the arm of the band’s original drummer Arata Nishi in 2001. Nishi was still in high school at the time.

Few More Lineup Additions

DangermouseYesterday Smash added five more acts to the FRF ‘10 lineup. The biggest name of the bunch is Broken Bells, the new band featuring Danger Mouse and The Shins’ James Mercer. Danger Mouse previously appeared at FRF ‘06 with Gnarls Barkley and Mercer visited the fest back in ‘07 with The Shins.

Also included in the latest artist announcement in Emeline Michel, The Entrance Band, Green Velvet, and Y.Sunahara.

Official Site News

FujiRockLogoThere are two news pieces on FRF’s official site that most fest goers may want to take a gander at before heading to Naeba.

The first, “READ before coming to the festival,” is obviously the more important of the two and lays out the event’s rules, info on advance ticket sales and buying tickets at the festival, shuttle bus and car park info and timetables, and more.

The second provides a preview of much of the FRF and artist-related merch that will be available for purchase.  There are no ATMs inside the festival grounds, so make sure you’ve got enough won with you to pick up any must-have rock ‘n roll gear.  Personally, I’m quite liking this Polysics tee.
