ZACH DE LA ROCHA FROM ONE DAY AS A LION
For those unable to join us in Naeba or for fest-goers wanting to spend more time with their fave acts, a number of Fuji Rock ’10 artists will be doing additional gigs in Japan around the time of FRF.
As Phil mentioned on our Twitter page earlier this week, One Day As A Lion, which is comprised of RATM’s Zack de la Rocha and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore, will have concerts in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo from August 3 – 6. Full info is here.
Them Crooked Vultures will be in Tokyo at Shibuya AX on July 28 providing fans with the chance to catch them in a more intimate setting before they play on the Green Stage. Full info is here.
Boys Noize, Mylo (DJ Set), and Riva Star will all take part at the official FRF ’10 After Party in Tokyo on August 2 at Womb. Full info is here.
Tower Records in Shibuya and Shinjuku will have some in-store performances as well. To the best of my knowledge, you must purchase an album by the band to attend the shows at the Shibuya shop. Shinjuku sets are absolutely free. The schedule is below. Check here in the weeks leading up to FRF to see if any other groups will stop by to play.
July 23 Buffalo Daughter @ Tower Records Shibuya
July 29 Lite @ Tower Records Shibuya
August 2 Moriarty @ Tower Records Shinjuku
HMV in Shibuya has also held some FRF-related in-stores in the past. But will the recent news of the outlet’s closure on August 22, I wouldn’t bank on there being any this year. I could very well be wrong, though. You can keep posted on whether anything develops here.
